Frequently Asked Questions

How can I register for your packages?

You may visit our packages section and select the package you wish to buy. If you first wish to check your eligibility, please purchase the Primary Assessment Package.

How can Doctor Expat help me?

Applying for a DHA, DOH, or MOH license can be an overwhelming experience due to the complex registration process. For individuals unfamiliar with the rules and regulations in the UAE, searching through multiple websites can be extremely time-consuming. We understand the challenges and are here to alleviate that burden for you. Simply provide your profession, basic details, and requested documentation, and leave the rest to us.

How does this work?

After registering on our website for the selected package, you will receive an email from us requesting the necessary information. Once we have assessed your eligibility and you have purchased the package, we can initiate the process.

Am I exempt from the exam if I meet the criteria?

Even if you possess the required certificates, exemption from exams is not guaranteed. Each case is individually assessed by the examination committee.

Is it possible to apply for the UAE License without a license in my home country?

Licensed experience is the only type of experience that is taken into account.

What kind of information would this be?

Generally, the required information includes:

  • Educational Certificates (all in color copy)
  • Passport photo, Passport copy
  • Experience letters (last 5 years for Specialist/Consultant; 2 years + 1-year internship for GP)
  • Good Standing Certificate (latest, within 6 months)
  • Medical Board Registration Certificate
  • Logbook for surgeons (last 2 years) signed and stamped by Medical Director
What is PSV?

PSV (Primary Source Verification) checks educational background, training, experience, and other credentials. Data Flow, a third-party organization, performs PSV in the UAE.

What is the validity for Good Standing Certificate (GSC)?

Valid for 6 months (some countries like the UK: 3 months).

What do you mean by Good Standing Certificate (GSC)?

A certificate issued by the Medical Council/Regulatory body confirming:

  • You are entitled to practice medicine
  • You were not disqualified, suspended, or prohibited
  • No issues affecting your good standing
How long will this whole registration process take?

Typically 8–10 weeks, possibly longer if more information is requested. PSV verification by Data Flow can take up to 3 months.

So once this has been done, what happens next?

After submitting documentation and completing Data Flow, you may be advised to book your exam. License issuance happens after passing the exam and completing Data Flow.

Do you also apply for our license? Does your package include exam fees?

No, package fees do not include examination costs. Fees must be paid directly to the exam board.

What are dual packages?

Designed to apply for licenses in 2 or more Emirates.

Why would we need to apply for both?

To increase your chances of finding a job, it is advisable to apply for all Emirates.

If I purchase a dual package, will you apply for all of them simultaneously?

No, one license is applied first. After Data Flow completion, the other Emirate license is applied.

Why can’t you apply for them together?

Costs would double and submitting the same documents twice complicates authority processes.

What if I already have Data Flow?

If you have a Data Flow report, send it to check for possible cost reduction.

Do I need to sit for the Prometric exam in Dubai/Abu Dhabi only?

DHA uses Prometric with test centers in 135 countries. DOH uses Pearson with some exams locally required in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

Will Doctor Expat help me find a job?

Yes, we assist in job placement but cannot guarantee a job.
